A Nice Break

While riding our bikes yesterday we found this quaint little coffee shop in Old Colorado City called "Jive".  Good coffee and a nice atmosphere made for a nice break from the saddle and peddles.

The Waldo Canyon Fire

Major efforts are going into protecting Cedar Heights and Mountain Shadows, but an equal or even more aggressive effort should be going into protecting our precious watershed at Rampart Reservoir.  If that watershed is filled with soot and ashes 70 % of Colorado Springs water supply could be compromised.  The city may not be sustainable if that happens.  I am not sure the fire managers even know this.

Going into the fire storm.  We are so proud of him and all the others that have, and will continue to fight these horrendous fires.  Heroes one and all.

They brightened my day!

New to the world, full of wonderment, innocence, and unquestioning trust.  Babies of all kinds are precious additions to our cynical and often misguided world.  These brand new fawns and their mother visited our neighborhood this morning and they were a joy to behold.  They didn't stay long but it was just enough to brighten my day.

Went fishing yesterday and it was so good I went again today.  We caught 43 between the two of us in two mornings and kept our limit of 2 fish each per day.  This is a nice 21" Cutbow, but all of them were nice fish.  The smallest we kept was 17".  Trout on the "barbie" um um!
