An uneasy coexistence at best.  Neither one was very trusting.

Great "Fisherbirds"

The Great Blue Heron is an amazing bird. They demonstrate infinite patience which makes them excellent fisherman (I guess I should say "fisherbirds").  We spent some time with this one a few days ago.  They are very wary creatures and difficult to approach.

The Drive To Work

This is known as the "work train".  It travels up and down the Pikes Peak cog railway carrying supplies, workers, tools and parts.  What a wonderful job commute.

A Train Ride to Remember

The Pikes Peak cog railway train shot form the roof of the Summit House.  Not too many visitors are allowed to venture up there.  With the 50 mph winds I was almost blown off the edge.

How Far Can You See?

How far can the eye see?  When you are at 14,110 feet you can see a very long way.

Top Of The World?

On top of the world?  Not yet...there are higher peaks in the background.  The Collegiate Range with Mount Harvard, and Mount Elbert.
